The C.I.T.E. plan is our way of pursuing our vision of making disciples of Jesus Christ.  It is an acronym that builds on the letters of the word CITE. 

     If we are to make disciples we must first Contact them everywhere we encounter people.  Where do we find those who stand in need of Christ's healing presence in their lives?  It is in our families, our friends, our neighbors, our co-workers, and everywhere else we encounter people.  When we encounter them we must contact them for Christ, that is- invite them to experience his presence in their lives through the worship, fellowship, and ministry of First United Methodist Church.

     Secondly, we must Involve them in the life of the fellowship.  We must bring them to worship with us, invite them to Bible study, include them in our fellowship activities, pray for them daily, and involve them in every way in the life of our church.

     Next, we must Teach them the beliefs and practices of the church.  We must use worship, Sunday school, Bible study, and personal involvement as teaching tools.  Most importantly, we must use the example of our own lives as tools to teach the uninitiated the beliefs and practices of the church.

     Finally, we must Empower them to be involved in ministry to others.  Once people are brought into the fellowship, taught the basics of the faith, and trained as disciples of Christ, they must be empowered to make disciples themselves.  They must be given the authority and the where-with-all to act in the name of Christ, and on behalf of the church, to minister to the needs of others.

     This is the CITE plan.  It is our plan of evangelism, our plan to fulfill the vision God has given this church.  And, you are invited to be a part of the plan.
