Distant mission efforts at First Church in recent years have included adults and teens.  Our adults have built homes in Juarez Mexico and PET vehicles in Bryan Texas.  Our teens have served in Appalachia and the inner city of Toronto.  The church supports missionaries around the world, such as Bishop Ntombo in Africa.  We send aid whenever and wherever need arises, such as hundreds of health kits and over $4000 to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. 

     Through the United Methodist system of apportionments First Church supports mission work around the world.  The United Methodist Church is one of the world's most active missionary bodies, with a presence on every continent, and in every emergency situation that arises around the world.
