Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir leads worship in the traditional worship services of First Church.  It also leads special services throughout the year as requested.  Singers from high school through adult are welcome to sing.  The only prerequisite is that you love the Lord and can sing in tune.

They have traveled to England, New York City, Seattle and Portland, OR where they were selected to sing at the United Methodist General Conference in 2016.  They sing a wide variety of choral styles including Classical, Contemporary, Spirituals, Gospel and Jazz, often incorporating professional musicians to enhance special services.

Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 8:30 pm in the church sanctuary.  They welcome new singers to join them at any time during the year.  Their service year runs from September through May.

Praise Band

The First United Methodist Church Praise Band leads worship at our early Sunday morning service. The Praise Band seeks to first and foremost be in a mindset of Worship. We want to lead worship by worshiping. The team spends time in prayer every week during our practice and the songs that are selected are picked after spending time in the Word and in prayer. It is our goal that the songs we sing and the worship we offer will be pleasing to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

If you are interested in joining the team please contact Jeremy Laukhuf.
