First Church has established a relationship in Juarez, Mexico with Jose Louis Ramos and "Operacion Hogar."  The project is a cooperative effort of The Mexican Methodist Church and United Methodist Volunteers In Mission to help the working poor of Juarez build decent housing.  Teams of adult missioners from First Church have traveled to Juarez to build one room, concrete block houses.  The families involved often formerly lived in their automobiles, or homes made of discarded pallets and cardboard boxes.
