JOB POSTING - Part-Time Custodian

First United Methodist Church is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Custodian to keep our church building and grounds clean, safe, and well-maintained. As part of our staff ministry team, the ideal candidate is a Christian servant committed to supporting FUMC’s core beliefs and mission. This is a 25 hour per week, first shift position.

 JOB OVERVIEW

Key Responsibilities Facility & Grounds Maintenance: Perform general cleaning, sanitation of restrooms, routine repairs, and basic boiler operations. Keep outdoor grounds, sidewalks, and walkways clear of weeds, litter, leaves, and snow. 

Church Operations: Open the church building Monday through Friday, manage event cleanup (weddings/funerals), and assist visiting groups as needed. 

Teamwork & Communication: Attend weekly staff meetings, report necessary repairs to the Building Superintendent, and order janitorial supplies. 

Qualifications: A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for ministry service. Alignment with FUMC’s core beliefs, values, and Christian conduct standards (Titus 1:7–9). Dependable, proactive, and capable of handling physical cleaning and outdoor maintenance tasks
