First Church Handbell Choir

Music has been a part of the First Church tradition since the beginning and includes a choir since 1902, an orchestra from 1914-1940, various small singing groups, handbell choir, and periodically hosting the community performance of Handel’s Messiah since 1932. The Noehren organ, which had multiple year restoration completed in 2024, was installed in 1979.

Chancel Choir

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir provides music for services from September through May and special services throughout the year. Singers from high school through adulthood are welcome to sing. The only prerequisite is that you love the Lord and can sing in tune. New singers are welcome to join them at any time during the year.

Rehearsal on Wednesdays in the Sanctuary Sept - May at 7:30 pm.
The choir participates in Worship services Sept - May.

Praise Band

Praise Band

The Praise Band leads worship for services. Their goal is that the songs we sing and the worship we offer will be pleasing to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This small group consists of vocalists and instrumentalists.

Handbells

Handbells

The handbell choir performs at least once a month for services. Handbells rehearse Wednesday evenings at 6:30 PM from September to May. Experienced ringers or those who read music are always welcome to join.

Holiday Hours
The office and building will be closed Thurs, Dec 25; Fri, Dec 26; and Thurs, Jan 1. No Food Pantry or Bread and Bowl on Dec 26.
Christmas Eve Service
Join us on Christmas Eve for music at 6:30 PM and worship at 7 PM. The service ends in candle light. Family Communion from 8 - 8:45 PM
