VBS 2026 Recap

What a week!  Wow, God! Watch our recap video to see all the fun and joy that God brings. 

Dear First Church, 

I apologize that I cannot be present this morning. Our girls are performing with their dance troupe today and I am back on parent duty. We had a family meeting last Sunday where I asked them to give me one week. One week to think about a hundred different things and then I was all theirs. My week is up and it’s back to chauffeur duty.  

I am in utter awe of the amazing week we had at VBS. We had 75 kids registered and 53 volunteers. Wow, GOD! We praised God through song, and story, and games, and crafts, and even in our snack. We explored the nature of God in so many ways. Ashlynn had a python wrapped around her. We created humongous bubbles. We immersed ourselves in a cave with David. We made butterfly watering stations. Our church was alive this week for the glory of God.     Special thank yous need to go out to Ella Stoller, Barb Showalter, Ruth Ann Covey, and Mary Ann Falk who began this journey with me four months ago. They ran through every brainstorm, every craft idea, every leaf placement with me and really invested in the vision I had for our rainforest. It would not have come together had it not been for them. Please thank them if you see them. 

To everyone who volunteered and made this week a success I am so immensely grateful for you. Thank you for investing your time, talent, and patience with our children this week. I pray God showers you with an abundance of love and affection and grace and rest.  

To our church who donated and prayed and shared our VBS, you made this past week possible. Thank you for believing that VBS can change lives and is necessary for our community.  

And finally, to the children that attended VBS, I pray that you learned a little bit more about the rainforest. I pray you know that God is our creator, that he knows everything, that he is our safe space, and that he is love. Most of all, I pray you leave VBS knowing that you are a priceless treasure.
